Five major projects well interpret the politics of design excellence has been pursued by Alessi awarded the prestigious GOOD DESIGN award 2010 instituted by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Last November, the jury met in New York has selected over 500 graphics and design projects from 36 nations.
In its sixty years, the Good Design Award awards the prize to the tableware for Alessi "Tonal" by David Chipperfield (2009), the trivet "Try it Trivet" Dror Benshetrit (2009), the pot pie " Essentiel de Pâtisserie "by Matali Crasset (2010), the kitchen knives" Milky Way "by Gian Franco and Anna Gasparini (2009) and the basket of" La Stanza dello Scirocco "Mario Trimarchi (2009).
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann Jr., the Good Design is today recognized as the most authoritative selection of works in the world of design and graphics, with topics ranging from vehicles for the NASA water purification systems for villages in Africa.
